An LEI can be used for a Verification of Payee check in Ireland only when both PSPs meet the relevant conditions. See the applicable dates, how the check works and what to ask your PSP.
From 10 July 2027, obliged entities in Ireland will obtain a customer's LEI where available. The AMLR does not require companies to obtain one, and AMLA's supporting standards remain in draft.
