DORA requires financial entities to identify ICT suppliers in their registers, but does not directly require suppliers to obtain an LEI. See when an LEI or EUID applies and how the MFSA reporting timetable affects requests.
Malta's PSPs have had to offer Verification of Payee since 9 October 2025. An LEI can be used instead of a payee name only when the relevant PSPs support and hold the identifier.
From 10 July 2027, obliged entities in Malta will obtain a customer's LEI where available. The AMLR does not require companies to acquire one, and AMLA's supporting standards remain in draft.
