A multi-year plan is one payment for the whole term, so the code does not quietly lapse.
02
We check the company number in the Companies Register or the NZBN in the New Zealand Business Number Register. You confirm the entity before submission.

Why LEIFast
The homepage is the application. Plans sit on the first screen. The form stays out of the way until you mean it.
Brokers and trading venues may ask a New Zealand entity for an active LEI before a reportable transaction.
Derivatives counterparties and reporting workflows can require the legal entity’s LEI to be current.
Banks may use the LEI alongside the company number or NZBN for institutional KYC, lending and treasury activity.
Funds and investment structures are separate legal entities; each record must identify the correct vehicle.
A company number or NZBN identifies an organisation locally; an LEI provides a shared identity for international financial transactions.
Counterparties can check GLEIF directly, so an Issued record matters after the initial application.
It gives a New Zealand legal entity a public identifier that financial counterparties can verify globally. The record shows legal name, company number or NZBN, address and registration status.
If an active LEI is required, a missing or Lapsed record can prevent a trade or report from being processed. The code stays the same and its data is confirmed annually.
LEIFast is the Registration Agent, not the issuer. We send the checked application to WM Datenservice for validation and issuance.
A 20-character ISO 17442 code that identifies a legal entity. Public in the GLEIF index.
New Zealand entities may be asked for an LEI for derivatives, securities, fund operations, treasury or cross-border onboarding. The exact requirement depends on the transaction and the requesting institution.
Only GLEIF-accredited Local Operating Units. LEIFast is a Registration Agent. We do not issue the code.
Complete applications can often be handled the same working day when records from the New Zealand Companies Register or NZBN Register and the authority to apply are clear.
One year at a time. A 3- or 5-year plan is one payment that keeps the code Issued for that term.
Renew with us if we manage it, or transfer first. The 20 characters stay the same. Transfer is free.
The yearly confirmation was missed. Many banks will not accept it until it is Issued again.
Legal name, company number or NZBN, registered address, contact details and parent information where GLEIF requires it.
If the applicant is not a director, if a parent link must be proved, or for some funds. We ask only then.
Use LEI search. The status must be Issued, not Lapsed.
