Four steps. Then you are done.

  1. 01

    Pick 1, 3 or 5 years

A multi-year plan is one payment for the whole term, so the code does not quietly lapse.

  2. 02

We match Companies House or the relevant UK register records

We check the legal name and company number or other registration number in Companies House or the relevant UK register. You confirm the entity before submission.

  3. 03

    Pay

Bank link, card or invoice. The GLEIF fee is not added at the end.

  4. 04

    Certificate by email

A GLEIF-accredited issuer publishes the code. The PDF arrives when the record is live.

Why LEIFast

Built to order, not to browse.

The homepage is the application. Plans sit on the first screen. The form stays out of the way until you mean it.

  • The form is on the first screen, behind one click.
  • Start with Companies House or the relevant UK register, not a page of empty identity fields.
  • Pay once for 1, 3 or 5 years. The code stays Issued for that term.
  • We are the Registration Agent. The issuer publishes the code.

UK entities commonly need an LEI for reportable securities transactions, UK EMIR reporting, funds and institutional finance.

UK securities reporting

Brokers and trading venues may ask a UK entity for an active LEI before a reportable transaction.

UK EMIR derivatives

Derivatives counterparties and reporting workflows can require the legal entity’s LEI to be current.

Banking and treasury

Banks may use the LEI alongside the company number or other registration number for institutional KYC, lending and treasury activity.

Funds and investment vehicles

Funds and investment structures are separate legal entities; each record must identify the correct vehicle.

Cross-border counterparties

A Companies House number identifies a company in the UK; an LEI is the identifier brokers, banks and reporting systems use across markets.

Renewal and record status

Counterparties can check GLEIF directly, so an Issued record matters after the initial application.

Read who needs an LEI in the United Kingdom and what the code is.

An LEI is a 20-character code for a UK entity.

It links a UK entity’s registered identity to the public GLEIF index used by financial firms worldwide. The record shows legal name, company number or other registration number, address and registration status.

If an active LEI is required, a missing or Lapsed record can prevent a trade or report from being processed. The code stays the same and its data is confirmed annually.

LEIFast is the Registration Agent, not the issuer. We send the checked application to WM Datenservice for validation and issuance.

Questions, answered plainly.

A 20-character ISO 17442 code that identifies a legal entity. Public in the GLEIF index.

UK entities commonly need an LEI for reportable securities transactions, UK EMIR reporting, funds and institutional finance. The exact requirement depends on the transaction and the requesting institution.

Only GLEIF-accredited Local Operating Units. LEIFast is a Registration Agent. We do not issue the code.

Complete applications can often be handled the same working day when records from Companies House or the relevant UK register and the authority to apply are clear.

One year at a time. A 3- or 5-year plan is one payment that keeps the code Issued for that term.

Renew with us if we manage it, or transfer first. The 20 characters stay the same. Transfer is free.

The yearly confirmation was missed. Many banks will not accept it until it is Issued again.

Legal name, company number or other registration number, registered address, contact details and parent information where GLEIF requires it.

If the applicant is not a director, if a parent link must be proved, or for some funds. We ask only then.

Use LEI search. The status must be Issued, not Lapsed.
