Do I have to renew?

Yes. An LEI is Issued for one year at a time. Miss the date and GLEIF marks it lapsed. The 20 characters do not change. The status does.

One payment, valid 12 months. Then you pay again, or move to a multi-year term.

3 or 5 years

Not a subscription. A 5-year plan costs 195 € upfront and covers five annual confirmations — not 39 € every year. See prices.

Already lapsed

After renewal, GLEIF shows the record as Issued again. If another agent manages the LEI, transfer it first. Transfer first (free).
